China: Area Map This small part of China lies in the south, with the northern border of Vietnam about 120 miles to the west of Hong Kong. The latitude is similar to Havana, Cuba. Julianna Qian's home town is Gao Zhou. We will be staying for two weeks at the White Swan Hotel in the provincial capital, Guang Zhou, which is just north of Hong Kong, and about 60 miles east of her home town.
